RULES, REGULATIONS AND HELPFUL HINTS FOR CAMPERS |
CAMPING:
Check-in time is between 3:00 and 9:00 p.m. Check-out time is 12:00 noon. No long-term camping. Maximum length of stay is one week.
You may gather any downed wood, or you may purchase firewood in the Camp Store. Please chop the wood into appropriate sized pieces to fit the fire rings. Do not cut live trees! YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY DAMAGE TO LIVE TREES!
If you smoke, please throw your cigarette butts in the fire rings. Keep food in closed containers as wildlife abounds in the woods.
Please leave your site as you found it. All trash should be placed in the trash cans behind the store. Do not leave trash in your site.
SAFETY:
Fires may be built in the fire rings. Please keep them small and douse them when you leave the area or go to sleep. Please don’t move the fire rings! Occasionally, due to lack of rain, there will be an open fire ban in effect. We’ll keep you advised.
Please drive slowly due to pedestrian traffic.
Pets must be on a leash and may not be left unattended.
Copperhead snakes are native to the area. Be aware when gathering wood and hiking. Use a flashlight after dark.
In case of an emergency, please find us at either the store in the barn or at the white house. There are no pay phones, so we’ll contact 911 for you.
THINKING OF OTHERS AROUND YOU:
To maintain the wilderness atmosphere, we ask that no radios be played. Drums and other musical instruments that will disturb other campers are also prohibited.
Quiet time is 10:00 p.m. Please respect the rights of others who wish to have a quiet, peaceful stay with us.
Disruptive behavior, overindulging in the use of alcohol and interfering in others’ rights to a fun stay will result in your being asked to leave. Come to the store or the house if you are having a problem with others’ disruptive behavior. We’ll work to resolve the problem.
HIKING:
We have one established hiking trail. Feel free to hike anywhere in the woods that isn’t posted, realizing you do so at your own risk. Again, we remind you of reptiles and other animals you may meet as you hike.
PARKING:
You may park on the roadside at camp sites 1-15. There is limited parking behind the store/barn for camp sites 16-36. Only one car per site at the river sites 37-44. All others must park in the main customer parking area.
STORE:
On weekdays, we are available to open the store from 7:15 a.m. until dark. Just come to the office at the white house and ring the bell. On weekends, we are usually at the store at 7:00 a.m. and close at dark.
